Wow...I didn't realised the last time I blogged was actually Christmas!! Haha...Time has really flown by. Anyway, I am at work blogging...Yeah...how the chinese would say "I am eating snake." Can't help it! I am a bit ecstatic and overwhelmed by a discovery I had this morning. I think I should start to elaborate it here to capture the memory so that next time I would have this to refer back to.
Recently, I have been having episodes of UTI. It's been really worrying since it recurred and seemed to have a problem going away. In any case, my hubby kept bugging me to see the urologist out of concern.

So I had to go to Dr Nam before being able to get a referral letter to the Urologist. There, I did a dip stick test first to check on the level of infection. And the result came out to be a trace in infection and high level of ketones which meant protein concentration. I couldn't understand why I was then suffering lower abdominal pains since I did not have UTI.
When I came back to the office, I went to google ketones out of curiosity. There I read about sugar levels and pregnancy. Then out of the blue, it hit me...Could I be pregnant??? So I googled, "How do you know if I am pregnant" The internet is really a marvelous invention.
There I got to read pages and pages of what the initial symptoms were. I fulfilled the symptoms of lower abdominal pain, tenderness in the breast area (which I attributed to my period coming) and the urge to pee. And while I was browsing through the pages of websites, I started to fill irritation in my chest area, like I was suffering from motion sickness sort of.
Here, I decided "What the heck!!" I told my hubby I wanted to buy a pregnancy test kit to check if I had conceived. He said why all of a sudden? I said there could be a possibility. Though I have yet to miss a period. I would only know if I missed a period come end of this month.
So we met to return to my in laws place for dinner. But before that, I stopped at AMK Hub, went to NTUC Health Link and bought me a couple of ClearBlue Pregnancy test kit at $21.00. They said the best time was any time. But to be safest, I decided to take the first urine of the morning.
I kept quiet about my plans at my in laws. My hubby and I watched Wolverine, the Origins of X Men and went to bed.
15th April 2009
At 5.25am, I felt the urge to pee. I woke up, and clumsily opened the box and tore out one of the test sticks. Went to the toilet and peeed on the stick. Lo and Behold, the test stick showed a plus...I wasn't too sure if my eyes were playing tricks on me. I told my hubby and he came over to see...True enough...I couldn't believe it...I didn't know how to react...Couldn't imagine I could be that fertile!!
So I went to drink a glass of water again...And in about an hour, I wanted to pee again. This time, I decided to test again to be entirely sure...I held the stick for 5 seconds as the instructions stated and peeed...And it came out positive again!!
From then on, I couldn't sleep...I wanted to call the whole world!!! But I know I am not supposed to because its not confirmed by the doctor yet. At 7.10am, I picked up the phone to wake my mum up and told her I am preggie...and the second person, my MIL.
However, when I reached my office, I smsed Dr Nam again to tell her about my situation. She told me that the chances are I am pregnant, but to see a gynae to confirm this and also since I have yet to miss my menses. But if I am truly preggie...I would be four and a half weeks preggie and I would be due around Christmas this year!!
Now I am kind of lost and I don't know how to react! I told my primary school friend because she would be the best person to consult since she just got preggie and I trust her tons since it is such an early stage...
Well...I will document my every step of the way from now on...Just to capture the memory of my first born...Hopefully I can confirm this pregnancy by this week. Keeping my fingers cross and may God continue to look over me and my hubby...
